Ko Samui: The Coconut Tree Island
Ko Samui (also often spelled Koh Samui) is the third largest island in Thailand. It is located 430 miles (700 km) south of Bangkok, in the Gulf of Thailand. The island is about 10 miles (15 km) across.
The central part of the island is a mountainous and dense jungle circled by one coastal road, making it easy to travel around. The road provides access to the airport and ferry ports, so getting there is easy.
Ko Samui is blessed with many magnificent beaches edged by swaying palm trees and lapped by warm, tropical waters.
